  1. بَنانُ يَدٍ تُشيرُ إِلى بَنانِ

    تَجاوَبَتا وَما يَتَكَلَّمانِ

    The fingertips of a hand gesture toward fingertips.

    The two answered one another, yet neither speaks.

  2. جَرى الإيماءُ بينَهُما رَسولاً

    فَأَحكَمَ وَحيَهُ المُتَناجِيانِ

    Gesture passed between them as a messenger,

    so the two conversing in secret perfected its message.

  3. فَلَو أَبصَرتَهُ لَغَضَضتَ طَرفاً

    عَنِ المُتَناجِيَينِ بِلا لِسانِ

    So, if you saw it, you would avert your gaze

    from the two conversing without a tongue.
