ياO نَسيمَbreeze الرّيحِof the wind فيin السَحَرِthe predawn hours
يا نَسيمَ الرّيحِ في السَحَرِ
وَشَبيهَand one resembling الشَمسِthe sun وَالقَمَرِand the moon
وَشَبيهَ الشَمسِ وَالقَمَرِ
O breeze of the wind in the predawn hours,
O morning breeze, so like the sun and moon
And you who resemble the sun and moon,
You who have kept sleepless he whose eyes now weep
إِنَّindeed مَنthe one who أَسهَرتَyou kept awake مُقلَتَهُhis eye
إِنَّ مَن أَسهَرتَ مُقلَتَهُ
لَقَريرُsurely content العَينِof eye بِالسَهَرِin sleeplessness
لَقَريرُ العَينِ بِالسَهَرِ
Indeed, the one whose eye you have kept awake
Is surely content in his sleeplessness.
