His gaze summoned mine, and it came hurrying.
His glance beckoned mine, so he came hastening over
And it left its mark on his cheeks, so he took revenge on my heart.
And what he plundered from my heart showed on his cheeks
شَكَوتُI complained إِلَيهِto him ماwhat لَقيتُI suffered مِنَfrom الهَوىlove

I complained to him of what I had suffered from love.
I told him of the passion I have suffered
Then he said, 'Easy now'; I said, 'Then what is my fault?'
He said, "Send me as envoy," and I said, "But what's my crime?"
