والحبُّ لصدقه دلائل
The lovesick lover inclines toward beauty;
The youth inclines to beauty
And love has proofs of its sincerity.
And love has its proofs of sincerity

And tears are an answer to my questioner,
And tears are an answer to the questioner
If a questioner is answered with something flowing.
If the questioner returns with questions

And beauty rules over hearts;
And beauty has power over hearts
And the heart seeks refuge with the beloved.
And the heart yearns for the beloved

If fortune favored the one I love,
If the one I love were to help, he would succeed
No barrier would keep me from the beloved.
No obstacle could come between me and the beloved

O my reproacher, away from me!
O reproacher, do not approach my precinct, reproachers!
Let no reproaching women approach my courtyard.

Here is a visitor, like a gazelle,
Who suffers from his glances, dwellings
Who torments his opponent with his glance.

مخارقُه له حمائل
What lies between his eyelids is a keen sword;
Their unsheathing brings calamities
His wiles serve it as sword-belts.

And the arrow strikes then is extracted
And the glance cleaves the joints.

Gently, my blood is lawful for him
And the glance passes through the vital spots.

Gently! My blood is lawful for him to shed;
If he intends me, that is my intention
I accept no one's word concerning him.
Or make way for me, and I will not argue

If he strikes me dead, that is my aim;
O beauty of his rise upon us
Or if he lays me low, I will not dispute.

The blossoms of the vines have slept in it
Well-watered, heavy in his lower parts.

The fragrance of rich perfumes has betrayed him,
And the perfume awakens upon it
When he stirred, and the thin robes betrayed him.

Anyone whose inner turmoil had been stilled.

And the garden upbraids him for its roses
How recent its acquaintance with Babylon!

Like a star in the most auspicious of stations.

How charming a cupbearer who grants intimacy!

How lovely the cheek I found,
When the star of my youth had not yet set.
