Sol 6.1

  1. أبَت همتي أنْ يراني امرؤ

    على الدهرِ يوماً له ذا خضوعِ

    My high resolve has refused to let anyone see me

    ever, throughout time, submissive to him.

  2. وما ذاك إلا لأني اتقيتُ

    بعزّ القناعةِ ذلَّ الخضوعِ

    And that is only because I have shielded myself

    with the dignity of contentment from the humiliation of submission.
