عدمتُ منْ قوى حسّه
ياOh حسرةsorrow الشيخthe old man علىfor نفسهhimself
يا حسرة الشيخ على نفسه
May I be bereft of whoever strengthened his senses!
His strength and senses fail and wane
Oh, the old man's sorrow for himself!
Alas, the old man now laments his state

تراه منقضّاً على سفله

كحائط خرَّ على سفله
You see him collapsing upon his lower part,
Collapsing ruined on himself
Like a wall that fell upon its base.
Like a wall that's fallen to its base
