خَلِّ الْعِتَابَ فَلَوْ طَلَبْتَ مُهَذَّبَاً

خَلِّ الْعِتَابَ فَلَوْ طَلَبْتَ مُهَذَّبَاً

أَعْيَاكَ مَطْلَبُهُ بِهَذَا الْعَالَمِ

أَعْيَاكَ مَطْلَبُهُ بِهَذَا الْعَالَمِ

Leave off reproach, for if you sought a faultless man,

Let go of reproach, for if you sought a refined man

the search for him in this world would exhaust you.

Its pursuit in this world would weary you.

إِنْ كَانَ لِي ذَنْبٌ إِلَيْكَ جَرَى بِهِ

إِنْ كَانَ لِي ذَنْبٌ إِلَيْكَ جَرَى بِهِ

قَدَرٌ فَإِنِّي مِنْ سُلالَةِ آدَمِ

قَدَرٌ فَإِنِّي مِنْ سُلالَةِ آدَمِ

If I have a fault against you brought about by

If I have sinned against you, it flowed from

fate, for I am indeed a descendant of Adam.

A fate, for I am of the lineage of Adam.
