    I loved whoever was loyal to Ali, longing

    for his favor, and hated whoever was hostile to him.

    He is that learned sage: whoever comes to him

    wins approval, and whoever calls upon him is answered.

    نَالا مِنَ الرِّضْوَانِ مَا قَصَدَاهُ

    And his two grandsons suffice, two imams of mercy;

    both attained the divine favor they sought.

    Indeed, exalted is whoever is loyal to him, in this world and on

    the Day of Reckoning; abased is whoever openly opposes him.

    تَلْقَ الْهُدَى وَكَفَى الْمُرِيدَ هُدَاهُ

    So turn toward him, know him, and hold fast to him;

    you will find guidance, and his guidance suffices the seeker.

    تَسْمَعْ بِقَلْبِكَ حَيْثُ كُنْتَ صَدَاهُ

    And when an affliction befalls you, call upon him;

    you will hear his echo with your heart, wherever you are.
