هَجَوتُكَI lampooned you غَيْرَnot مُبْتَدِعٍinventing مَقَالاًa statement
سِوَىother than مَاwhat فِيكَin you مِنْof دَنَسٍfilth وَشُؤْمِand ill omen
I lampooned you with no fabricated claim,
My satire of you is not inventing discourse
Only the filth and ill omen within you.
Other than what in you is of vileness and ill omen
فَإِنْso if تَجْزَعْyou lose heart فَمِنْthen from خَوَرٍweakness وَجُبْنٍand cowardice
وَإِنْand if تَصْبِرْyou endure patiently فَمِنْthen from ضَعَةٍbaseness وَلُؤْمِand meanness
So if you lose heart, it is from weakness and cowardice;
So if you show cowardice, it is from abasement and cowardice
And if you endure, it is from baseness and meanness.
And if you show patience, it is from weakness and blame
