Every utterance has a beacon by which it is set aright,
Each word has a minaret that makes it upright
In discourse—both what is spoken and what is heard.
When uttered, both heard and spoken

For reproach, if it exceeds the bounds of fairness, severs ties,
So reproach, if it exceeds the limits of justice, severs ties
And counsel, unless given in private, is rebuke.
And advice, if not given in secret, is rebuke
