وَاخْشَand fear الْمَكِيدَةَthe plot مِنْfrom عَدوٍّan enemy بَاطِنِhidden
وَاخْشَ الْمَكِيدَةَ مِنْ عَدوٍّ بَاطِنِ
Do not fear hardship from an enemy in plain sight;
Do not fear hardship from an open enemy;
but fear the plot of an enemy who lies hidden.
But fear the plot of a hidden enemy.
كَمْhow great بَيْنَbetween شَرٍّan evil ظَاهِرٍevident مُسْتَدْرَكٍattainable
كَمْ بَيْنَ شَرٍّ ظَاهِرٍ مُسْتَدْرَكٍ
مِنْهُfrom it الْخَلاصُescape وَبَيْنَand between شَرٍّan evil بَاطِنِhidden
مِنْهُ الْخَلاصُ وَبَيْنَ شَرٍّ بَاطِنِ
How vast the gulf between an overt evil, from which deliverance
How great the gulf between an evident evil that permits
can be secured, and an evil that lies concealed.
Escape from it, and a hidden evil!
