عامُ سبعٍ صفوٌ لسعدِ الوزيرِ

عامُ سبعٍ صفوٌ لسعدِ الوزيرِ

فَالهَنا أوّلاً بهِ للأميرِ

فَالهَنا أوّلاً بهِ للأميرِ

Year seven brings unclouded fortune to the minister;

The year seven was serene for Sa'd the minister

So congratulations on it go first to the prince.

So let us congratulate him first for the prince

إنّ ملكاً وزيرهُ لا يجارى

إنّ ملكاً وزيرهُ لا يجارى

لحريّ الهنا بملكٍ كبيرِ

لحريّ الهنا بملكٍ كبيرِ

Indeed, a king whose minister is unrivaled

A king and his minister cannot be compared

Surely merits congratulations on a mighty realm.

It is not right to compare our king to a great one

دُم لنا أيّها الوزيرُ المفدّى

دُم لنا أيّها الوزيرُ المفدّى

سائرَ الدهرِ مِن صروفِ الدهورِ

سائرَ الدهرِ مِن صروفِ الدهورِ

Remain with us, O minister whom we would ransom,

Stay with us, O worthy minister

For all time, safe from the vicissitudes of the ages.

For the rest of time against the turns of fate

وَتهنّأ بيمن ذا العامِ واِسعَد

وَتهنّأ بيمن ذا العامِ واِسعَد

بِنظيرٍ مِن بعده فنظيرِ

بِنظيرٍ مِن بعده فنظيرِ

And enjoy this year's good fortune, and prosper

And congratulate the auspices of this year and be joyous

With another like it thereafter, then another.

With a like one after it so like

تَتَوالى بما تشاءُ منَ التع

تَتَوالى بما تشاءُ منَ التع

ميرِ في عزّ مجدك المعمورِ

ميرِ في عزّ مجدك المعمورِ

May they follow one another, as you wish, with long—

Continuously bestow with what you wish from the favors

—life amid the might of your flourishing glory,

In the glory of your honored kingdom

مُمتعاً بِسلامةِ الأهلِ والأن

مُمتعاً بِسلامةِ الأهلِ والأن

جالِ تُرقيهم ذرى التصديرِ

جالِ تُرقيهم ذرى التصديرِ

Enjoying the well-being of your family and off—

Delighted by the well-being of family and companions

—spring, whom you raise to the heights of preeminence,

You raise them to the heights of nobility

ما زَها العام قولُ من أرّخوه

ما زَها العام قولُ من أرّخوه

عام سبعِ صفو لسعد الوزيرِ

عام سبعِ صفو لسعد الوزيرِ

As long as the words of those who dated it adorn the year:

How excellent the year, said those who dated it
