مُحيّا المعالي مُسفرُ ذو تهلّل

طليقُ جبينٍ بالسرورِ مكلّلِ

The countenance of lofty honors is radiant and beaming,

O radiant one of sublime traits whose forehead gleams

With an open brow crowned with joy,

With joyous delight and triumph it beams

مصعّر خدّ باِعتزازٍ مورّد

مصعّر خدّ باِعتزازٍ مورّد

مُشزّر طرفٍ با أقبلِ

مُشزّر طرفٍ با أقبلِ

A rosy cheek turned aside in pride,

With cheeks all rosy from gladness sincere

A stern, sidelong gaze—[the remaining phrase is unclear].

And eyes shining bright when my love draws near

كأنّ عَلى ديباجَتيه أزاهرا

كأنّ عَلى ديباجَتيه أزاهرا

تَجسّدن مِن معنى الهنا بتشكُّلِ

تَجسّدن مِن معنى الهنا بتشكُّلِ

As though flowers upon its two cheeks

As if on his cheeks blossoms appear

Had taken bodily form from the essence of bliss.

That from happiness meaning take form and cohere
