أُمَّ الوزيرَ الشهمَ إِسماعيلا

أُمَّ الوزيرَ الشهمَ إِسماعيلا

إِن كنتَ تَبغي إِلى النجاحِ سَبيلا

إِن كنتَ تَبغي إِلى النجاحِ سَبيلا

Seek out the magnanimous minister Ismaʿil,

O mother of the brave minister Ismail

If you seek a path to success.

If you seek the path to success

وَاِحطُط رِحالَك في حِماه توسّلاً

وَاِحطُط رِحالَك في حِماه توسّلاً

سَتَرى لما أمّلت منهُ كَفيلا

سَتَرى لما أمّلت منهُ كَفيلا

And set down your baggage in his protected domain, seeking favor;

Set down your saddlebags in his protection, beseeching

You will find him a guarantor of what you hoped to obtain from him.

You will see he is able for what you hope of him

لا تعدُ عَينكَ مِن علاهُ لغيرهِ

لا تعدُ عَينكَ مِن علاهُ لغيرهِ

فَعُلاه أكرمُ مرتعاً ومقيلا

فَعُلاه أكرمُ مرتعاً ومقيلا

Do not let your gaze stray from his eminence to anyone else;

Do not turn your eyes from his exaltation to another

For his eminence is the noblest pasture and noonday resting place.

For his exaltation is the noblest pasture and rest

أَبقى الإله لَنا عُلاه وزادهُ

أَبقى الإله لَنا عُلاه وزادهُ

عزّاً وذكراً في الأنامِ جميلا

عزّاً وذكراً في الأنامِ جميلا

May God preserve his eminence for us and grant him more

May God make his exaltation endure and increase him

Glory and fair renown among humankind.

In honor and fame among the people beautifully

وَأقرّ عَينه باِبنه مرّ المدى

وَأقرّ عَينه باِبنه مرّ المدى

حتّى يَراه كَما يشاءُ جَليلا

حتّى يَراه كَما يشاءُ جَليلا

And gladden his eye with his son as time passes,

And gladden his eye through his son for ages

Until he sees him illustrious, just as he wishes.

Until he sees him as he wishes, magnificent
