O gathering of Arabs, come and see

At a trace you claimed was effaced.

A symbol you claimed to be well-versed

لَو علّقَ العلمَ بنجم السماء

لَنالهُ الأقوامُ مِن فارِس

لَنالهُ الأقوامُ مِن فارِس

If one hung knowledge upon a star in the sky,

If he had hung knowledge on a star

The peoples of Persia would surely attain it.

The peoples would take it even from Persia
