God be praised for the table of joy, adorned

With fruits whose yield is sweet and pleasing.

It was fit for the noblest company in a gathering,

Where ornamented cloaks and cushions were spread out.

Whatever the soul desires is there,

Of all that the taster delights in.

It paid tribute to al-Mustafa, who gave it to us,

Of the house of Bayram—and what we see confirms it—

For generosity, good humor, and grace,

Like clouds whose rain the lightning heralds.

How noble he is, and his visitors, especially

The son of Ibn Ayyad and a true friend.

So to us they are the two Farqad stars, joined together,

And with them is Saturn, an old man in love.
