وماand not منحَgranted اللهُGod الخليقةَcreation بهجةًjoy
وما منحَ اللهُ الخليقةَ بهجةً
بأجملَmore beautiful مِنthan رُوحِthe spirit of الحبيبِthe Beloved وأرحَماand more merciful
بأجملَ مِن رُوحِ الحبيبِ وأرحَما
And God bestowed no joy upon creation
And God has granted creation no joy
more beautiful than the Beloved’s spirit, nor more merciful.

نبيّa prophet تهادَىflowed gently النورُthe light مِنfrom طلَعاتِهhis appearances
نبيّ تهادَى النورُ مِن طلَعاتِه
هنيئًاbliss لِمَنto whoever صلّىinvoked blessings عليهِupon him وسلّماand offered peace
هنيئًا لِمَن صلّى عليهِ وسلّما
A Prophet—from whose countenance light came gently gliding;
A prophet from whose appearances light gently flowed.
blessed is whoever invokes blessings and peace upon him.
Blessed is whoever sends blessings and peace upon him.
