بينamid الشغافِthe heart’s lining أحسِّكُمْI feel you أغرودةًa song
تهميpours forth ، تهشُّrejoice لهاin it الجوانحُthe breast والخواطرْand the thoughts
In the folds of my heart, I feel you as a song,
Among the branches I feel your song
Pouring forth, as heart and thoughts rejoice in it.
It stirs, it flutters the wings and thoughts
وتُعَشِّشُونَand you nest قصائدًاas poems نشوىrapturous ، لهاfor them
فوقَabove الضُّلوعِthe ribs الوالهاتِlove-stricken بكمfor you منابرْpulpits
And you nest as rapturous poems, which have
And you nest poems, intoxicated, for it
Pulpits above the ribs that yearn for you.
Above the enamored ribs - you have pulpits
قولواsay : بربكمُby your Lord أأنسىcould I forget? خفقةًa heartbeat
لرفيفهاfor its flutter تهفوyearn المسامعُthe ears والنواظرْand the eyes
Tell me, by your Lord: could I forget a heartbeat
Say: by your Lord, shall I forget a throb
Whose flutter ears and eyes long for?
For its murmur the senses and sights waver

Eid has come, and suddenly there awoke
The feast has come, suddenly awake
Visions of you, that I might bring you glad tidings,
Your ghosts to orchestrate tidings to you
مهماhowever much تثاءبتyawns المسافةُthe distance بينناbetween us

However wide the distance yawns between us,
No matter how the distance yawns between us
And life’s hand grows tyrannical and draws the curtains.
And the hand of life prevailed and drew the curtains
