يا خيرَ بنّاءٍ لخير بناءِ

يا خيرَ بنّاءٍ لخير بناءِ

Farouk, O master of the white, beneficent hand,

O finest builder of the finest edifice,

حيَّتْك جامعةٌ وضعتَ أساسها

حيَّتْك جامعةٌ وضعتَ أساسها

ومنَحتها اسمَك زينةَ الأسماء

ومنَحتها اسمَك زينةَ الأسماء

A university whose foundation you laid has saluted you,

And you bestowed upon it your name, the adornment of names.

العلم قد أهدى قلادته إلى

العلم قد أهدى قلادته إلى

مَن ذاتُه جلَّتْ عن الإِهداء

مَن ذاتُه جلَّتْ عن الإِهداء

Learning has presented its necklace to

One whose very person is too exalted for gifts.

يزهو بنور العلم تاجُك، مثلمَا

يزهو بنور العلم تاجُك، مثلمَا

يزهو بنور جبينك الوضَّاء

يزهو بنور جبينك الوضَّاء

Your crown glories in the light of learning, just as

It glories in the light of your radiant brow.

من ذا الذي رَفعِ العلوم مكانةً

من ذا الذي رَفعِ العلوم مكانةً

حتى تُتوِّج هامة الجوزاء؟

حتى تُتوِّج هامة الجوزاء؟

Who is it that raised the sciences so high

That they crown the head of al-Jawza?

إنا عهدنا المُلكَ يبسط كفه

إنا عهدنا المُلكَ يبسط كفه

للعلم قبل اليوم بالإعطاء

للعلم قبل اليوم بالإعطاء

Indeed, we have known kingship to stretch out its hand

To learning, before today, as a giver.

مِن معجزاتك يا زمانَ النسور: أَنْ

مِن معجزاتك يا زمانَ النسور: أَنْ

نال الملوكُ جوائز العلماء

نال الملوكُ جوائز العلماء

Among your miracles, O age of eagles, is that

Kings have received the prizes of scholars.
