كَذَبتَyou lied وَمَنand whoever يَكذِبlies فَإِنَّthen indeed جَزاءهُhis recompense
كَذَبتَ وَمَن يَكذِب فَإِنَّ جَزاءهُ
إِذاwhen ماemphatic particle أَتىhe comes بِالصِدقِwith the truth أَلاthat not يُصَدَّقاhe be believed
إِذا ما أَتى بِالصِدقِ أَلا يُصَدَّقا
You lied, and whoever lies receives this recompense:
When he tells the truth, he is not believed.
إِذاwhen عُرِفَis known الكَذّابُthe liar بِالكِذبِfor lying لَمnot يَكُنhe is
إِذا عُرِفَ الكَذّابُ بِالكِذبِ لَم يَكُن
لَدىamong الناسِthe people ذاpossessed of صِدقٍtruthfulness وَإِنand even if كانَhe is صادِقاtruthful
لَدى الناسِ ذا صِدقٍ وَإِن كانَ صادِقا
When a liar is known for lying, he is not
Considered truthful by people, even if he is truthful.
وَمِنand among آفَةِthe failings الكَذّابِthe liar نِسيانُforgetting كِذبِهhis lies
وَمِن آفَةِ الكَذّابِ نِسيانُ كِذبِه
وَتَلقاهُand you find him ذاpossessed of حِفظٍmemory إِذاif كانَhe is حاذِقاskillful
وَتَلقاهُ ذا حِفظٍ إِذا كانَ حاذِقا
And one of a liar's failings is forgetting his lies,
And you find him with a good memory if he is skillful.
