الدَهرُ لا يَبقى عَلى حالِهِ

الدَهرُ لا يَبقى عَلى حالِهِ

لَكِنَّهُ يُقبِلُ أَو يُدبِرُ

لَكِنَّهُ يُقبِلُ أَو يُدبِرُ

Time does not remain as it is;

Time does not remain still

But it advances or retreats.

But it comes and goes

فَإِن تَلَقّاكَ بِمَكروهِهِ

فَإِن تَلَقّاكَ بِمَكروهِهِ

فَاِصبِر فَإِنَّ الدَهرَ لا يَصبِرُ

فَاِصبِر فَإِنَّ الدَهرَ لا يَصبِرُ

So if it meets you with its adversity,

If it comes across to you with its misfortunes

Then be patient, for time is not patient.

Then be patient, for time will not be patient
