وَدعاand summoned المَشيبُgray hair شَبيبَتيmy youth لِنَفادِto an end
My head has turned white after its blackness,
My head turned white after once being black,
And gray hair has summoned my youth to its end.
Old age called on my youth until it faded.
وَاِستُحصِدَand were reaped القَومُthe people الَّذيwhom أَناI مِنهُمُfrom among them
وَكَفىand suffices بِذاكَthat عَلامَةًa sign لِحَصاديof my reaping
And the people to whom I belong have been reaped,
My people, whom I belong to, were harvested,
And that is sign enough of my own reaping.
That was sign enough my harvest was ready.
