أَعطَيتُ كُلَّ الناسِ مِن نَفسي الرِضا

أَعطَيتُ كُلَّ الناسِ مِن نَفسي الرِضا

إِلّا الحَسودَ فَإِنَّهُ أَعياني

إِلّا الحَسودَ فَإِنَّهُ أَعياني

I have given everyone reason to be pleased with me,

I have given satisfaction to all people from my soul

Except the envious man, for he has worn me out.

Except for the envious one, for he has troubled me

لا أَنَّ لي ذَنباً لَدَيهِ عَلِمتُه

لا أَنَّ لي ذَنباً لَدَيهِ عَلِمتُه

إِلّا تَظاهُرَ نِعمَةِ الرَحمَنِ

إِلّا تَظاهُرَ نِعمَةِ الرَحمَنِ

Not that I know of any fault he holds against me,

Not that I have sinned against him I knew

Except the abundance of the All-Merciful’s bounty.

But for manifesting the Blessing of the Merciful

يَطوي عَلى حَنَقٍ حَشاهُ لِأَن رَأى

يَطوي عَلى حَنَقٍ حَشاهُ لِأَن رَأى

عِندي كَمالَ غِنىً وَفَضلَ بَيانِ

عِندي كَمالَ غِنىً وَفَضلَ بَيانِ

He harbors rancor in his breast, for he has seen

He folds his rancor that fills him for he saw

That I possess ample wealth and exceptional eloquence.

In me the perfection of riches and eloquence

ما إِن أَرى يُرضيهِ إِلّا ذِلَّتي

ما إِن أَرى يُرضيهِ إِلّا ذِلَّتي

وَذَهابُ أَموالي وَقَطعُ لِساني

وَذَهابُ أَموالي وَقَطعُ لِساني

I see nothing that pleases him but my abasement,

I see nothing satisfies him except my humiliation

And the loss of my wealth and the severing of my tongue.

And loss of my money and cutting off my tongue

فَسَأَستَعينُ بِخالِقي مَولى الوَرى

فَسَأَستَعينُ بِخالِقي مَولى الوَرى

يَكفينا بِها مِنَ الشَيطانِ

يَكفينا بِها مِنَ الشَيطانِ

So I shall seek help from my Creator, Lord of all creation;

So I will seek the help of my Creator, Master of Creation

He will protect us through it from Satan.

He suffices us against the devil
