يا ربِّ لا أقع فيما خجلِ

يا ربِّ لا أقع فيما خجلِ

حذاء ذي كثر وذي قلٍّ جلي

حذاء ذي كثر وذي قلٍّ جلي

O my Lord, let me not fall into what brings shame,

O Lord, let me not fall into shame

in plain sight of those with much and those with little,

In the presence of the many or the few

لا سيما يوم المعاد الأفضلِ

لا سيما يوم المعاد الأفضلِ

فلا يُرى فيه إلهي خجلي

فلا يُرى فيه إلهي خجلي

especially on the most excellent Day of Return,

Especially on the day of the best return

so let my shame not be seen on it, my God.

Where my shame before You, my God, is seen

وأكرمني بك لا من قِبَلي

وأكرمني بك لا من قِبَلي

من قبله وفيه إكرام الولي

من قبله وفيه إكرام الولي

And honor me through You, not through myself,

Honor me through Yourself, not through me

before it and on it, as a friend of Yours is honored.

Through Him, and in Him lies the guardian's honor

ولتنْزلنّي منازلَ العلي

ولتنْزلنّي منازلَ العلي

ولتسترنْ ولتغفرنَّ زللي

ولتسترنْ ولتغفرنَّ زللي

And lodge me in the stations of the exalted.

And place me in the most high stations

And conceal and forgive my missteps.

And conceal and forgive my stumbles

ولْتُغنِني وللتَتَوَلَّ يا ولي

ولْتُغنِني وللتَتَوَلَّ يا ولي

ولتحفظنِّي ربَّنا من عِلَلِ

ولتحفظنِّي ربَّنا من عِلَلِ

And free me from need and take me into Your care, O Protector.

And enrich me, and take care of me O Guardian

And protect me, our Lord, from ailments.

And protect me, our Lord, from afflictions

ولتجعلنْ مقامي أعلى يا علي

ولتجعلنْ مقامي أعلى يا علي

دهريَ من كلِّ مقامٍ معتلي

دهريَ من كلِّ مقامٍ معتلي

And make my station higher, O Most High,

And make my standing most high, O Exalted One

throughout my life, than every lofty station.

My life, elevated above every station

بجاه أفضل الورى النبي الجلي

بجاه أفضل الورى النبي الجلي

صلِّ وسلِّمَنَّ عليه وصِلي

صلِّ وسلِّمَنَّ عليه وصِلي

By the standing of the best of creation, the illustrious Prophet,

By the grace of the best of creation, the brilliant Prophet

bestow blessings and peace upon him, and unite me [with him].
