He drew near and leaned down, no distance,
but rather an honor to Muhammad's rank.
But to honor the worth of Muhammad.

Praising him swept every care from my heart,
Every care has departed my heart, his praise,
and no praise survives like the praise of Muhammad.
And no eulogy equals the eulogy of Muhammad.

because in it I did not give life to Muhammad's praise.
I did not live praising Muhammad.

The radiance of Dhukāʾ, the sun, comes from the gleam of his face's light,
The light of his brilliant intellect shone forth,
for no face in all creation is like the face of Muhammad.
So no face in the world matches Muhammad's.

The sea of my longing overflowed as I visited his grave;
The sea of my passion overflowed to visit his tomb,
is there, then, in all creation a grave like Muhammad's grave?
So is there a tomb in the world like Muhammad's?

My ardent love for him is constant and never ends,
My passion for him is everlasting, it cannot cease,
just as recounting Muhammad's praise never suffices.
Just as ceaseless is the mention of Muhammad's praise.

The God of creation shielded him from every deceiver,
God sufficed to foil every schemer
and the sword of Muhammad destroyed the people of polytheism.
And Muhammad's sword destroyed the idolaters.

My praise of him is a debt, and my religion is praising him;
My praise of him is a debt and his praise my religion,
so none who recites Muhammad's praise has failed.
So none lose who recite Muhammad's praise.
