Ibn al-Khaliʿ’s great bowls were emptied; now
The cheeks of the son of Al-Khali' were spilled,
the pools of bounty have lost their lofty standing.
So the meadows of dew faded from them the levels.

So his grief-stricken supplicants circle around him,
His chastity yearns for those circling around him,
as when a well’s timber frame collapses while those seeking water crowd around.
As the throne of the well collapsed, and the roses storming.
