أَكُلُّكُمْ يَزْجُرُكُمْ أَرْحِبْ هَلا

أَكُلُّكُمْ يَزْجُرُكُمْ أَرْحِبْ هَلا

وَلَنْ تَرَوْهُ الدَّهْرَ إِلَّا مُقْبِلا

وَلَنْ تَرَوْهُ الدَّهْرَ إِلَّا مُقْبِلا

Does Arhab urge you all on with the cry “Hallā!”?

Are you all driven back by cries of 'Make way! On!'?

Never, for all time, will you see him save charging forward,

And you will never see him, for all time, except advancing.

يَحْمِلُ زَغْفاً وَرَئِيساً حَجْفَلا

يَحْمِلُ زَغْفاً وَرَئِيساً حَجْفَلا

وَسائِلاً فِي أَهْلِهِ ما فَعَلا

وَسائِلاً فِي أَهْلِهِ ما فَعَلا

bearing pliant mail and a formidable chieftain,

He carries supple mail and a mighty chieftain,

who asks among his people, “What have the two done?”

And one asking among his people what he has done.
