O Bishr, Bishr of Iyad, which of you

brought Uraykah on the day of the rocky heights of al-Ajshur?

The boys ride one behind another upon her backbone,

at the pools of al-Radaf, toward the spear-points of Mahdar.

    She came on a pack-saddle, with a waterskin-load,

and you relieved her of the toil of handling the fodder-sling.
