Remember Sa‘id for virtues that were already his,

Remember Sa'id with stinginess preceding him,

His father's legacy—and his lineage is traceable.

His father's inheritance and lineage ascribed.

يا اِبنَ الأَكارِمِ وَالمَحمودِ سَعيُهُمُ

يا اِبنَ الأَكارِمِ وَالمَحمودِ سَعيُهُمُ

وَاِبنَ الذي عُوقِبَت في قَتلِهِ العَرَبُ

وَاِبنَ الذي عُوقِبَت في قَتلِهِ العَرَبُ

O son of the noblest and of those whose striving is praised,

O son of generous and praiseworthy deeds,

And son of him for whose killing the Arabs were punished.
