عَفاmay He forgive اللَهُGod عنfor أمِّmother of الحُوَيرِثِal-Huwayrith ذَنبَهاher sin
عَفا اللَهُ عن أمِّ الحُوَيرِثِ ذَنبَها
عَلامَwhy تُعَنّينيyou torment me وَتَكميand you conceal دَوائِياmy remedy
عَلامَ تُعَنّيني وَتَكمي دَوائِيا
May God forgive Umm al-Huwayrith her sin.
May God forgive Umm Al-Huwairith her sin
Why do you torment me and conceal my remedy?
Why do you blame me and withhold my medicine?
فَلَوso, had آذَنونيthey informed me قَبلَbefore أَنthat يَرقُمواthey write بِهاof her
فَلَو آذَنوني قَبلَ أَن يَرقُموا بِها
لَقُلتُI would have said لَهُمto them أُمُّmother of الحُوَيرِثِal-Huwayrith دائِياmy ailment
لَقُلتُ لَهُم أُمُّ الحُوَيرِثِ دائِيا
So, had they informed me before they wrote of her,
Had they asked me before etching her name on it
I would have told them, “Umm al-Huwayrith is my ailment.”
I'd have told them "Umm Al-Huwairith is my remedy."
