من قال بت أخا الهموم ومن يبت

من قال بت أخا الهموم ومن يبت

غرض الهموم ونَصْبِهنَّ يُؤرَّقِ

غرض الهموم ونَصْبِهنَّ يُؤرَّقِ

Who said I spent the night a brother to cares? And whoever spends the night

Who has said you are the brother of worries, and who would spend the night

a target of cares and their mark is kept sleepless.

With worries as his aim and their affliction to torment him?

بشرَّتُ نفس إذ رأيتك بالغنى

بشرَّتُ نفس إذ رأيتك بالغنى

ووثِقْتُ حين سمعت قولَك لي ثِقِ

ووثِقْتُ حين سمعت قولَك لي ثِقِ

I gave my soul glad tidings of wealth when I saw you,

My soul rejoiced when I saw you were well-off,

and I felt assured when I heard your words to me: 'Trust.'

And I felt reassured when I heard your words, “Trust me.”
