ولن تحييك اظْآر معطَّفةً

ولن تحييك اظْآر معطَّفةً

بالقاع لا تَمَكٌ فيها ولا مَيَلُ

بالقاع لا تَمَكٌ فيها ولا مَيَلُ

Nor will foster she-camels, turned inward, greet you

You will not be revived by covered looks

on the flat plain: none among them high-humped or slant-humped.

In the plain there is no shelter nor slope

ليست بعُوذ ولم تُعطَف على رُبَع

ليست بعُوذ ولم تُعطَف على رُبَع

ولا يهيب بها ذو النيَّة الابلُ

ولا يهيب بها ذو النيَّة الابلُ

They are not newly calved she-camels, nor were they turned toward a spring-born calf,

It is no refuge, and bends not to make quarters

nor does a man of purpose, skilled with camels, call to them.

Nor do those of intent fear for it the bold
