ولكنكم حي معازيلُ حِشوةٌ

ولا يمنع الجيرانُ باللوم والعذلِ

ولا يمنع الجيرانُ باللوم والعذلِ

But you are an unarmed tribe, mere rabble;

But you are living reproaches, mere padding,

Nor are neighbors protected by blame and reproach.

And the neighbours' blame and censure cannot stop us.
