وعاث في غابرٍ منها بعثعثةٍ

نَحرُ المكافِيءِ والمكثور يَهْتَبِلُ

نَحرُ المكافِيءِ والمكثور يَهْتَبِلُ

And through what remained of it, amid turmoil, rampaged

He ravaged a past of hers with ravaging,

The matching foe’s breast, while the outnumbered one seizes his chance.
