ولم ينبح الكلب العقور ولم يُخَف

ولم ينبح الكلب العقور ولم يُخَف

على الحاطبين الأسود المتقوِّبُ

على الحاطبين الأسود المتقوِّبُ

And the vicious dog did not bark, nor was there fear

The spiteful dog did not bark nor scare away,

for the wood-gatherers because of the black serpent shedding its skin.

The hunchbacked black snake from the kindling gatherers.
