ومنَّا ابن كوز والمنسِّم قبله

وفارس يوم الفيلق العضب ذو العَضْبِ

And among us are Ibn Kūz and al-Munassim before him,

Among us are the sons of Kaws and al-Munassim before him

And the keen horseman on the day of the host, wielder of the sharp sword.

And the horseman on the day of al-Filiq, the angry one with fury
