فديتُI would give my life for علياًAli إمامthe leader of الورىhumankind
فديتُ علياً إمام الورى
سِراجُthe lamp of البريةِcreation مأوىthe refuge of التقىpiety
سِراجُ البريةِ مأوى التقى
I would give my life for Ali, the leader of humankind,
The lamp of creation, the refuge of piety,
وصيَّthe legatee of الرسولِthe Messenger وزوجَand husband of البَتُولthe Pure One
وصيَّ الرسولِ وزوجَ البَتُول
إمامَthe leader of البريةِcreation شمسَthe sun of الضُّحىmidmorning
إمامَ البريةِ شمسَ الضُّحى
The Messenger’s legatee and husband of the Pure One,
The leader of creation, the midmorning sun.
تصدَّقَhe gave in charity خاتِمَهُhis ring راكعاًwhile bowing
تصدَّقَ خاتِمَهُ راكعاً
فأحسِنthen how fine بفعلِis the deed of إمامِthe leader of الوَرىhumankind
فأحسِن بفعلِ إمامِ الوَرى
He gave his ring in charity while bowing in prayer.
How fine, then, the deed of the leader of humankind!
ففضَّلَهُso favored him اللَهُGod ربُّLord of العبادthe servants
ففضَّلَهُ اللَهُ ربُّ العباد
وأنزَلَand revealed فيin شأنِهِhis regard هلquestion particle أتىhas come
وأنزَلَ في شأنِهِ هل أتى
So God, Lord of all servants, favored him,
And revealed “Has There Come” concerning him.
