    And Ali, his eye inflamed, was seeking

    a remedy; so when he found no healer,

    God’s Messenger cured him of it with a little spittle.

    So blessed was he who received the healing prayer, and blessed was he who recited it.

    And he said, “Today I shall give the banner to a resolute man,

    a valiant warrior who loves the Messenger and is loyal,

    به يفتحُ اللَهُ الحُصونَ الأوابيا

    who loves God, and whom God loves;

    through him God opens the impregnable fortresses.”

    So he singled out for it, above all creation,

    Ali, and called him the minister bound to him in brotherhood.
