We counted twenty-five years for him;
We counted twenty five pilgrimages for him
and when he had completed them, he had grown into a mighty chief.
Then when he passed away he became a great master

عَلى خَير حالٍ لا وَليداً وَلا قَحما
We were bereaved of him as we awaited his return,
We grieved for him when we awaited his return
in his prime, neither a child nor a decrepit old man.
In the best condition, not as a newborn nor worn down
