وَبَرَّدتُ شوقي ضمّاً ولثما

So I gave it a home within my heart,

So I placed it in my heart,

and cooled my longing with embraces and kisses.

And cooled my yearning with an embrace and a kiss.

وروحُك عندي في القلب قد

أَمتُ لها مسكناً فيه أسمى

And your spirit, here in my heart—I had already
