With goodness, with good fortune, with happiness, with triumph,

under your Lord's protection, go forth, O reviver of humankind.

And shine upon the East, radiant with beneficence,

for the sun in the East bestows light upon the gaze.

And be gentle with our hearts, wounded by your distance from

our horizons; for they have followed in your footsteps.

My lord Khurshid, nothing will turn us

from devotion, even after separation and travel.

If you go far from us, we are not distanced

from you by gratitude and remembrance along the way.

We pray for your preservation as a crown of the age, just as

we sing our thanks to you in the evenings and before dawn.

We are those who took pride in what you bestowed on them

of happiness and wishes, O noblest of the proud.

So remember a land and a people who have so often sipped

the cups of your highness's reviving, fragrant kindness.

You have so often given me generously of your bounty, just as

my thanks to you endure without limit.

Whoever embraces people with kindness is embraced

with goodness by his Creator, who protects him from harm.

O star whose rising is auspicious,

O towering in glory—nay, O exalted in stature!

You are the valiant one whose awe-inspiring majesty shone forth,

and who thus secured the land, dispelling the cloud of danger.

The mouths of the people sing your praise, and indeed

the land has grown tranquil, dispelling the cloud of danger.

Praise is yours: you have indeed revived our souls.

May your kindness never cease to quicken the heart of humankind.

The exalted sultanate summons you, having come to know

the merits of your person through experience and through report.

So rise to the lofty celestial sphere whose

constellations are blessed by you, as you unveil the banner of triumph.

Thus the Turks' land of Rum has indeed attained

its desire, since they dated it by the Sun of the East.
