جادَت يَدُ العَليا فَشادَت محرساً

جادَت يَدُ العَليا فَشادَت محرساً

فيهِ لِتَأمين التُجار مَنازِلُ

فيهِ لِتَأمين التُجار مَنازِلُ

The exalted hand gave generously, then built a guardhouse;

The mighty hand was generous, so it erected a guardhouse

Within it are lodgings to keep the merchants safe.

In it to secure lodging for the traders

وَالأَمنُ في أَيام سُلطانِ العُلى

وَالأَمنُ في أَيام سُلطانِ العُلى

عَبدُ العَزيز إِلى البَريةِ شامِلُ

عَبدُ العَزيز إِلى البَريةِ شامِلُ

And safety, in the days of the sultan of glory,

And safety in the days of the supreme Sultan

Abd al-Aziz, extends to all humankind.

Abdul Aziz towards the desert is all encompassing

فبظلِهِ قَد جَدَّ إِبرَاهيم في

فبظلِهِ قَد جَدَّ إِبرَاهيم في

تَوطيد هَذا السَدّ وَهُوَ الفاضِلُ

تَوطيد هَذا السَدّ وَهُوَ الفاضِلُ

So in his shade Ibrahim has indeed striven to

So in his shade Ibrahim seriously

strengthen this barrier, and he is virtuous.

Strove in reinforcing this dam, and he is the virtuous one

رُكنٌ يَردُّ البَحرَ عَن عُدوانِهِ

رُكنٌ يَردُّ البَحرَ عَن عُدوانِهِ

أرّخ بِهِ حُسن التِجارَةِ كامِلُ

أرّخ بِهِ حُسن التِجارَةِ كامِلُ

A bulwark that holds back the sea’s assault;

A pillar that holds back the sea from its aggression

Record its date thus: “The beauty of commerce is complete.”

Dated by it the perfection of trade is complete
