جلاكَ الكَمال لَنا فَرقَدا

يُنيرُ العُيون وَيَجلو الصَدا

Perfection revealed you to us as a Farqad star,

Your perfection has shone for us, so we rested

Illuminating the eyes and clearing away rust.

It illuminates the eyes and clears the echo

فَفي أُفقِ فكرِكَ نور الذَكا

فَفي أُفقِ فكرِكَ نور الذَكا

تَلمَع مِن تَحت صُبح الهُدى

تَلمَع مِن تَحت صُبح الهُدى

For in your thought's horizon is the light of intelligence;

In the horizon of your thought is the light of intelligence

You gleam from beneath the dawn of guidance.

That gleams from under the dawn of guidance

دَعاكَ الفَخار لِميدانِهِ

دَعاكَ الفَخار لِميدانِهِ

فَجئتَ كَريماً تَجيب النَدا

فَجئتَ كَريماً تَجيب النَدا

Glory summoned you to its arena,

Excellence called you to its arena

So you came nobly, answering the call.

So you came generously responding to the call

تَبين الرَشاد وَتَصفي الوِداد

تَبين الرَشاد وَتَصفي الوِداد

وَتَشفي الفُؤاد وَتَشقي العِدا

وَتَشفي الفُؤاد وَتَشقي العِدا

You make right guidance clear and purify affection,

You show the right path and purify affection

And heal the heart and make foes miserable.

And heal the heart and split apart enmity

أيا نَخلَةً في رِياضِ البَها

أيا نَخلَةً في رِياضِ البَها

يُكلِلُها اللُطف لَيسَ النَدا

يُكلِلُها اللُطف لَيسَ النَدا

O palm tree in the gardens of splendor,

O palm tree in the gardens of glory

Grace crowns it, not dew.

Crowned with kindness, not boastfulness

فَدَيتكُ أَنتَ خَليل الخَليل

فَدَيتكُ أَنتَ خَليل الخَليل

وَربُّ الجَميل وَنَبع النَدى

وَربُّ الجَميل وَنَبع النَدى

May I be your ransom! You are Khalil's friend,

I sacrifice myself for you, friend of the friend (Abraham)

And the master of kindness and the wellspring of generosity.

And Lord of Beauty and source of dew

صَفا في الوِداد وَدِادٌ وَفا

صَفا في الوِداد وَدِادٌ وَفا

قَديم العُهود طَويل المَدى

قَديم العُهود طَويل المَدى

In affection, a love that kept faith grew pure,

Loyal in affection and loving in friendship

Long-standing in its pledges, enduring in its span.

Longstanding in covenant, endless in duration

رَأَتكَ المَعارف كَنزاً لَها

رَأَتكَ المَعارف كَنزاً لَها

فَأمَّتكَ تَشكُر تِلكَ اليَدا

فَأمَّتكَ تَشكُر تِلكَ اليَدا

The branches of learning saw you as their treasure,

Knowledge saw you as a treasure for it

So they sought you out, thanking that hand.

So the nation thanked that hand

وَقَد هِمتَ بالشعر بَينَ المَلا

وَقَد هِمتَ بالشعر بَينَ المَلا

بِوَصفِكَ إِذ أَنشَدا

بِوَصفِكَ إِذ أَنشَدا

And you were enamored of poetry amid the gathering,

And you were inspired by poetry amid the summit

When he recited it, describing you.

In describing you as I recited
