It is beyond my power, and your pardon does me justice.

its qualities, beyond the thought of every writer?

and with forbearance bestowed every kindness upon me.

O Raghib, eager to bestow favors among the people,

indeed, glory yearns for you and singles you out.

You kept ascending toward its horizons,

until you rose to a nobler station.

recounting virtues and piety from Yusuf.

You dazzled our eyes with manifest excellence,

and stole our heart with this subtle kindness.

Others yearn for favors, while you do not

desire anything but bestowing the most gracious favors.

May you ever walk in robes of happiness and serenity,

and gladden hearts that find healing in thanking you.
