مَنْwho لِلإِقَالَةِin pardoning مِثْلُlike أَحْمَدَAhmad مَاهِرٍMahir
مَنْ لِلإِقَالَةِ مِثْلُ أَحْمَدَ مَاهِرٍ
بِالحِلْمِwith forbearance إِذْwhen تَتَعَثَّرُfalter الأَحْلامُminds
بِالحِلْمِ إِذْ تَتَعَثَّرُ الأَحْلامُ
Who is like Ahmad Mahir in pardoning,
Who has resignation like Ahmed the skillful
With forbearance when minds falter?
With wisdom when dreams stumble
سَمْحٌgenerous بِفِطْرَتِهِby his nature أَبِيٌّproud عَادِلٌjust
سَمْحٌ بِفِطْرَتِهِ أَبِيٌّ عَادِلٌ
مَاnot ضَامَwronged إِنْسَاناًa person وَلَيْسَand is not يُضَامُwronged
مَا ضَامَ إِنْسَاناً وَلَيْسَ يُضَامُ
Generous by nature, proud and just,
Tolerant by nature, dignified and just
He has wronged no one, nor is he wronged.
He never wronged anyone, and cannot be wronged
يُهْدِيguides كَنَجْمِlike the star of القُطْبِthe pole فِيin غَسَقِthe deep darkness of الدُّجَىnight
يُهْدِي كَنَجْمِ القُطْبِ فِي غَسَقِ الدُّجَى
وَمَكَانُهُand his standing فِيin الفَضْلِvirtue لَيْسَis not يُرَامُaspired to
وَمَكَانُهُ فِي الفَضْلِ لَيْسَ يُرَامُ
He guides like the Pole Star in the deep darkness of night,
He guides like the pole star in the dark of night
And his standing in virtue is beyond reach.
