مَاwhatever أَنْسَI forget مِنْof طِيبِsweetness عَيْشِيmy life
لاnot أَنْسَI forget يَومَthe day of القِرَانِmarriage
Whatever I may forget of the sweetness of my life,
Whatever I may forget of the sweetness of my life,
I shall not forget my wedding day,
I shall not forget the day of my marriage,
وَلاnor جَلاَلَthe grandeur of زَفَافِيmy wedding
وَرَوْعَةَand the splendor of المَهْرَجَانِthe celebration
nor the splendor of my bridal procession
Nor the grandeur of my wedding,
and the magnificence of the celebration,
And the splendor of the celebration,
وَلاnor لِحَاظِthe glances of لَدَاتِيmy female peers
وَقَدْand indeed وَدَدْنَthey (women) wished for مَكَانِيmy place
nor the glances of my peers
Nor the glances of my peers,
as they wished themselves in my place—
As they longed to be in my place.
يَومَthe day شَفَىhealed النَّفْسَthe soul فِيهِin it
لِقَاءُmeeting مَنْthe one who يَهْوَانِيloves me
the day my soul grew serene
The day on which my soul was healed
upon meeting the one who loves me.
By meeting the one who loves me.
فَلْيَكْلأِso may He safeguard اللهُُGod سَعْدِيmy happiness
وَلْيَرَعَand may He preserve مَاwhat أَعْطَانِيHe has given me
May God, then, safeguard my happiness
So may God safeguard my happiness,
and preserve what He has given me.
And may He preserve what He has given me.
