The crescent has appeared, so greet the harbinger of Eid
Greet the bearer of glad tidings that promises will be fulfilled.
Greet the bearer of glad tidings fulfilling the promise

Since the dawn of time, he has told us
who act upon its intended meaning.

Since the world's beginning, it has never ceased to tell us
Let each daring soul gain a free life
that fullness comes through striving and exertion.
And seek his own path in the land like thunder

He who exceeds his destined time
toward perfection, you have won what you seek.

the event among your earliest most deserving of affirmation.
To life, redeeming those who pay its price

The least struggle is to protect one’s life from folly
lies a subtle meaning that rejects all separation.
To preserve an existence bound by limits

Muhammad endured the trials of his emigration
though at first you were no day for celebration.
For a blessed cause, sublime and praised

يُشْقِي الأَمِينَ وَتَغْرِيبٍ وَتَنْكِيدِ
God's message is not completed without toil
So many raids and battles he faced
that afflicts the entrusted one, and exile and distress.
Until he won empowerment and aid

لانْدَكَّ مِنْهَا وَأَضْحَى بَطْنَ اُخْدُودِ
If God's message had descended upon a mountain,
Such is life, and jihad in proportion to it
it would have crumbled beneath it and become the bottom of a chasm.
Who ransoms it is ransomed

وَجَفَّ وَانْهَالَ فِيهِ كُلُّ جُلْمُودِ
And had a sea borne it, it would have blazed with flame,
Idolatry gained followers to strengthen it
dried up, and had every boulder tumble into it.
In every fading land, consolidating

The ignorant pleased only with God as their slave
and spent the night in pain from it and sleeplessness.

from those who had threatened him with the direst threats.

He paved the way on earth for his call
is hurt by a viper and weeps unaided.

Beginning rule by consultation, perfecting
destroys towns, it remains a fortress never demolished.

The lowest struggle is a person's foolish struggle
Egypt is the heart, and if it regains its health
to preserve a lifespan bound to a fixed limit.

Arrogant, refusing harm, inexperienced in judgment,
No misstep by one but the other will correct
heavy-handed in violence, supple as tender shoots.
