أَقِيمِيStay أُطِلْI may prolong مِنْof نَظْرَتِيmy gaze مَاas long as اسْتَطَعْتُهَاI can sustain it
إِلَىtoward جَانِبٍa side مِنْof وَجْهِكِyour face المُتَحَوِّلِturning
Stay, so I may prolong my gaze as long as I can,
Gaze long as you are able
upon one side of your turning face.
Upon a changing cheek,
فَمَاfor no بِكِin you حُسْنٌbeauty فَوْقَabove ذَاكَthat وَإِنَّهُand indeed it
لَيُغْنِيsurely satisfies المُنَىlongings عَنْwithout need of كُلِّevery حُسْنٍbeauty مُكَمِّلcompleting
For no beauty in you surpasses that, and it
For there is no beauty beyond that,
surely satisfies longing without any beauty to complete it.
Though it suffice the lovesick.
كَذَاlikewise المَلَكُthe angel الرَّانِيgazing intently إِلَىtoward وَجْهِهhis face رَبِّهِhis Lord
لَهُhe has طَرْفُa gaze مَطُروفstricken وَمَيْلَةُand a tilt أَمْيعلunclear as written
So too the angel gazing toward his Lord’s face:
Thus the soft-voiced angel to his Lord
he has a stricken gaze and a tilt [final word unclear as written].
Turns a melted gaze, a visage inclined.
