يَا فَتَى الفِتْيَانِ أَحْسَنْتَ البَلاَءْ

يَا فَتَى الفِتْيَانِ أَحْسَنْتَ البَلاَءْ

فِي المُبَارَاةِ وَحَقَّقتَ الرَّجَاءْ

فِي المُبَارَاةِ وَحَقَّقتَ الرَّجَاءْ

O youth of youths, you acquitted yourself splendidly

O youth among youths, you have excelled in ordeal

In the contest, and fulfilled our hopes.

And attained hope in competition

وَأَرَيْتَ الغَرْبَ مَا بِالشَّرْقِ مِنْ

وَأَرَيْتَ الغَرْبَ مَا بِالشَّرْقِ مِنْ

قَدْرَةٍ يُبرِزُهَا حَينَ يَشَاءْ

قَدْرَةٍ يُبرِزُهَا حَينَ يَشَاءْ

And you showed the West what the East possesses of

And shown the West what power lies in the East

Power, which it displays whenever it wishes.

Whenever it wills to display

فَخَلِيقٌ بِكَ أَنْ تُجْزَى كَمَا

فَخَلِيقٌ بِكَ أَنْ تُجْزَى كَمَا

جُزِيَ الأَبْطَالُ عِنْدَ القُدَمَاءْ

جُزِيَ الأَبْطَالُ عِنْدَ القُدَمَاءْ

So it is fitting that you be rewarded as

So it befits you to be rewarded as

Heroes were rewarded among the ancients.

The heroes were rewarded in olden times

مِصْرُ مَا زَالَتْ عَلَى العَهْدِ حِمىً

مِصْرُ مَا زَالَتْ عَلَى العَهْدِ حِمىً

لِلْحُمَاةِ الصَّادقِينَ الأُوْفِياءْ

لِلْحُمَاةِ الصَّادقِينَ الأُوْفِياءْ

Egypt remains, true to her pledge, a sanctuary

Egypt has always been a protector

For sincere and loyal defenders.

Of the sincere, faithful guardians

لِشَبَابٍ كُلَّمَا نَادَاهُمُ

لِشَبَابٍ كُلَّمَا نَادَاهُمُ

وَاجِبٌ لَبَّوا مِنَ الفَوْرِ النِّدَاءْ

وَاجِبٌ لَبَّوا مِنَ الفَوْرِ النِّدَاءْ

For young men who, whenever summoned by

Of a youth who, whenever duty calls them

Duty, answer the call at once.

Rush to answer its call at once

لاَ يَضِنُّونَ بِمَجْهُودَاتِهِمْ

لاَ يَضِنُّونَ بِمَجْهُودَاتِهِمْ

وَقَدِيماً لَمْ يَضِنُّوا بِالدِّمَاءْ

وَقَدِيماً لَمْ يَضِنُّوا بِالدِّمَاءْ

They do not begrudge their efforts,

They do not stint their efforts

And of old they did not begrudge their blood.

Nor did they once stint their blood

وَلَهُمْ فِي الذَّوْدِ عَنْ أَوْطَانِهِمْ

وَلَهُمْ فِي الذَّوْدِ عَنْ أَوْطَانِهِمْ

وَقَفَاتُ الصَّابرِينَ البُسَلاءْ

وَقَفَاتُ الصَّابرِينَ البُسَلاءْ

And in defending their homelands, theirs are

And they have in defending their homelands

The stands of steadfast, valiant men.

The stands of the steadfast, valiant ones

لَمْ تَفِتْهُمْ وَالْمَنَايَا دُونَهَا

لَمْ تَفِتْهُمْ وَالْمَنَايَا دُونَهَا

نُصْرَةُ الحَقِّ بِعَزْمٍ وَإبَاءْ

نُصْرَةُ الحَقِّ بِعَزْمٍ وَإبَاءْ

They never failed—though death stood in the way—

The deaths before them did not make them forget

To defend right with resolve and proud defiance.

Defending truth with resolve and refusal

أَثْبَتُوا أَنَّهمُ إِنْ دُرِّبوا

أَثْبَتُوا أَنَّهمُ إِنْ دُرِّبوا

صَالِحَ التَّدْرِيبِ جَدَّ الأَقْوِيَاءْ

صَالِحَ التَّدْرِيبِ جَدَّ الأَقْوِيَاءْ

They proved that, if trained

They proved that if well-trained

With sound training, they are truly strong.

They are most excellent in training, the strongest

فِي الرِّيَاضَاتِ لَهُمْ تَبْرِيزُهُمْ

فِي الرِّيَاضَاتِ لَهُمْ تَبْرِيزُهُمْ

فَإذَا اعْتَزُّوا فَلَيْسُوا أَدْعِيَاءْ

فَإذَا اعْتَزُّوا فَلَيْسُوا أَدْعِيَاءْ

In sports, theirs is excellence,

In sports they have their distinction

So when they take pride, they are no pretenders.

So when they are proud they are no pretenders

لَمْ تَنَلْ مِنْهُمْ مَنَالاً فِرَقٌ

لَمْ تَنَلْ مِنْهُمْ مَنَالاً فِرَقٌ

غَلَبُوا فِيهَا قُرُومَ الغُرَبَاءْ

غَلَبُوا فِيهَا قُرُومَ الغُرَبَاءْ

No teams have gained any advantage over them;

No teams gained any advantage over them

In those sports they defeated the champions from abroad.

They overcame the choirs of foreigners

وَلَهُمْ مَا شَهِدَ الْخَلْقُ بِهِ

وَلَهُمْ مَا شَهِدَ الْخَلْقُ بِهِ

مِنْ ذَكَاءٍ وَثَبَاتٍ وَمَضَاءْ

مِنْ ذَكَاءٍ وَثَبَاتٍ وَمَضَاءْ

And they possess what humankind has attested:

And they have what all creation witnessed in them

Intelligence, steadfastness, and resolve.

Of intelligence, steadfastness and zeal

لَيْسَ بِدْعاً مِنْهُمُ أَنْ يَحْتَفُوا

لَيْسَ بِدْعاً مِنْهُمُ أَنْ يَحْتَفُوا

بِالَّذِي شَرَّفَهُمْ خَيْرَ احْتِفَاءْ

بِالَّذِي شَرَّفَهُمْ خَيْرَ احْتِفَاءْ

It is nothing strange for them to pay

It is no wonder for them to celebrate

The finest tribute to the man who brought them honor.

What honored them, best celebration

لِنَصِيرِ شَرَفٍ زَادَ اسْمُهُ

لِنَصِيرِ شَرَفٍ زَادَ اسْمُهُ

بِعَزِيزِ النَّصرِ نُبْلاً وَازْدِهَاءْ

بِعَزِيزِ النَّصرِ نُبْلاً وَازْدِهَاءْ

Honor is Nasir's; his name has grown

For the champion whose name was increased

In nobility and pride through glorious victory.

By precious victory, in nobility and esteem

وَمَجَالاَتِ العُلَى شَتَّى فَفِي

وَمَجَالاَتِ العُلَى شَتَّى فَفِي

كُلِّهَا مِصْرُ تُحَيِّي النُّبهَاءْ

كُلِّهَا مِصْرُ تُحَيِّي النُّبهَاءْ

And the fields of glory are manifold; so in

And in all fields of sublimity, Egypt hails

All of them, Egypt salutes the distinguished.

The eminent in each one of them

أَيُّها الحَامِلُ أَثْقالاً بِهَا

أَيُّها الحَامِلُ أَثْقالاً بِهَا

كُلُّ صِنْدِيدٍ شَدِيدِ الأَيْدِ نَاءْ

كُلُّ صِنْدِيدٍ شَدِيدِ الأَيْدِ نَاءْ

O you who carry weights beneath which

O you who bears burdens under which

Every champion of mighty strength staggers,

Every strong-armed hero arms would break

لَيْتَ لي مِنْ فَضْلِ مَا أُوتِيتَهُ

لَيْتَ لي مِنْ فَضْلِ مَا أُوتِيتَهُ

هِمَّة تَحْمِلُ أَثْقَالَ الْبَقَاءْ

هِمَّة تَحْمِلُ أَثْقَالَ الْبَقَاءْ

Would that I had, from the abundance bestowed on you,

Would that I had of the bounty you were given

A resolve that could bear the burdens of existence.

An ambition that bears the burdens of eternity

دَامَ رَبُّ العَرْشِ فِي أَعْلَى الذُّرُى

دَامَ رَبُّ العَرْشِ فِي أَعْلَى الذُّرُى

راسِخَ السُّدَّةِ خَفَّاقَ الْلِّوَاءْ

راسِخَ السُّدَّةِ خَفَّاقَ الْلِّوَاءْ

May the lord of the throne endure upon the highest peaks,

May the Lord of the Throne at the highest summit

Firm in his seat of rule, his banner flying.

Firmly established, fluttering the banner, live forever

تَفْتَدِي الأَنْسَابُ مِنْهُ حَسَباً

تَفْتَدِي الأَنْسَابُ مِنْهُ حَسَباً

نِيطَ مِنْ شَعْبِ بِأَسْبَابِ الوَلاءْ

نِيطَ مِنْ شَعْبِ بِأَسْبَابِ الوَلاءْ

Lineages would give themselves for his noble worth,

Lineages seek repute from Him, a lineage

Bound by a people with the cords of allegiance.

Bound in allegiance to a nation of might
