يَا دُعَاةَ العُلَى كَفَى مَا يُسَامُ

يَا دُعَاةَ العُلَى كَفَى مَا يُسَامُ

مِنْ مَسَاعٍ ذَاكَ السَّرِيُّ الهُمَامُ

مِنْ مَسَاعٍ ذَاكَ السَّرِيُّ الهُمَامُ

O champions of lofty aims, enough of the demands

O callers to loftiness, enough of what saddens

for effort imposed on that noble, valiant man.

The secretive, ambitious one with those struggles

أَتْعَبَ العَالَمِينَ فِي العَيْشِ

أَتْعَبَ العَالَمِينَ فِي العَيْشِ

ذُو النَّفْسِ الَّتِي يَسْتَفِزُّهَا الإِقْدَامُ

ذُو النَّفْسِ الَّتِي يَسْتَفِزُّهَا الإِقْدَامُ

Most weary of all people in life

He has wearied the two worlds in life

is he whose soul is spurred by daring.

With a soul that is provoked by daring

حَمَلَتْكَ الْعُقَابُ مَحْمَلَ يُمْنٍ

حَمَلَتْكَ الْعُقَابُ مَحْمَلَ يُمْنٍ

تَسْلُكُ الجَوَّ وَالطَّرِيقُ الغُمَامُ

تَسْلُكُ الجَوَّ وَالطَّرِيقُ الغُمَامُ

The eagle carried you on an auspicious journey,

Misfortune has carried you very graciously

traversing the sky, with the clouds as its road.

You traverse the atmosphere, and the path is cloudy

لَمْ تَعِقْ سَيْرَهَا البِحَارُ وَلا

لَمْ تَعِقْ سَيْرَهَا البِحَارُ وَلا

الأَنْهَارُ فِيهِ وَلا الرُّبَى وَالأَكَامُ

الأَنْهَارُ فِيهِ وَلا الرُّبَى وَالأَكَامُ

The seas did not hinder its course, nor

Neither seas, nor rivers therein, nor meadows nor dunes

the rivers along it, nor the hills and knolls.

Could impede its journey

وَتُؤْمُّ العِرَاقَ فَأَظْفِرْ بِأَسْنَى

وَتُؤْمُّ العِرَاقَ فَأَظْفِرْ بِأَسْنَى

مَا يُلاقِي بِهِ الكَرِيمَ الكِرَامُ

مَا يُلاقِي بِهِ الكَرِيمَ الكِرَامُ

And it heads for Iraq; may you receive the finest

And you take care of Iraq, so gain the best

welcome with which noble men greet a noble man.

That the generous encounter with the generous

إِنَّ دَارَ السَّلامِ وَالمَلِكِ إلا

إِنَّ دَارَ السَّلامِ وَالمَلِكِ إلا

رَوْعِ فِيهَا دَارٌ عَلَيْهَا السَّلامُ

رَوْعِ فِيهَا دَارٌ عَلَيْهَا السَّلامُ

Indeed, the Abode of Peace, with its king, most

Indeed the abode of peace and the King is only

magnificent within it, is an abode—peace be upon it.

Amazing, in it is a house upon which is peace

قُلْ لَهُ حِينَ تَجْتَلِي وَجْهُهُ

قُلْ لَهُ حِينَ تَجْتَلِي وَجْهُهُ

البَسَّامَ وَالسَّعْدُ وَجْهُهُ البَسَّامُ

البَسَّامَ وَالسَّعْدُ وَجْهُهُ البَسَّامُ

Say to him, when you behold his face,

Say to him when his face glistens

beaming—and good fortune is his beaming face:

The smiling one, and prosperity - his face is smiling

مِصْرُ تَرْعَى ذِمَامَهُ وَتُحْيِّي

مِصْرُ تَرْعَى ذِمَامَهُ وَتُحْيِّي

كُلَّ بَرْقٍ مِنْ السَّوَادِ يشَامُ

كُلَّ بَرْقٍ مِنْ السَّوَادِ يشَامُ

Egypt honors his covenant and salutes

Egypt takes care of its reins and revives

every flash of lightning sighted from the Sawad.

Every lightning flash from the black clouds

وَتَرَى بِعْثَةَ العِرَاقِ فَتَرْجُو

وَتَرَى بِعْثَةَ العِرَاقِ فَتَرْجُو

لِلْبَلَدَيْنِ أَنْ يَتِمَّ المَرَامُ

لِلْبَلَدَيْنِ أَنْ يَتِمَّ المَرَامُ

And she sees Iraq's mission, and so hopes

And you see the Iraqi delegation, so you hope

that the goal may be fulfilled for both lands.

For the two countries that the purpose is fulfilled

فِي البَوَادِي وَفِي الحَوَاضِرِ عَهْدٌ

فِي البَوَادِي وَفِي الحَوَاضِرِ عَهْدٌ

حَفَظَتْهُ لِهَاشِمٍ وَذِمَامُ

حَفَظَتْهُ لِهَاشِمٍ وَذِمَامُ

In the deserts and in the cities is a covenant

In the deserts and in the cities is a covenant

she has kept for Hashim, and a pledge of honor.

Preserved for Hashim and its reins

وَلَهُ فِي القُلُوبِ تَاجٌ سَنِيٌّ

وَلَهُ فِي القُلُوبِ تَاجٌ سَنِيٌّ

وَلِوَاءٌ عَالٍ وَعَرْشٌ مُقَامُ

وَلِوَاءٌ عَالٍ وَعَرْشٌ مُقَامُ

And in hearts he has a radiant crown,

And for him in the hearts is an old crown

and a lofty banner, and a throne set firm.

And a high banner and a stable throne

مَلَكَتْ فَيْصَلاً مَقَادَتْهَا

مَلَكَتْ فَيْصَلاً مَقَادَتْهَا

أَخْلاقُهُ الغِرُّ وَالفِعَالُ الجِسَامُ

أَخْلاقُهُ الغِرُّ وَالفِعَالُ الجِسَامُ
